Impact of short-term rosuvastatin therapy on severity of systemic inflammatory response was studied in patients with coronary heart disease in hospital period after coronary artery bypass grafting under artificial circulation. 76 men aged 45-70 years were investigated and divided into 2 groups: 40 patients (mean age 55,3±5,1 years) treated with rosuvastatin formed group 1, 36 patients (mean age 55,8±5,5 years) that didn't take the drug formed group 2. Lower levels of interleukins 1,6, and 8, tumor necrosis factor α, C-reactive protein and higher levels of interleukin 10 and transforming growth factor Β were observed in patients taking rosuvastatin. Obtained results indicate that short-term preoperative treatment with rosuvastatin decreases severity of systemic inflammatory response after coronary artery bypass grafting under artificial circulation.
