Abstract:

Results of investigation and treatment were analyzed in 92 patients with acute myocardial infarction with ST segment elevation and thrombosis of infarct-related artery. Patients were divided into 2 groups. In the first group (n=45) percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) was applied using manual aspiration devices and intravenous administration of Eptifibatide. Balloon angioplasty was used in the second group (n=47). Intervention in both groups was followed by stenting. In the first group adequate reperfusion detected according to angiographic and electrocardiographic criteria was achieved with statistical relevance more often. Application of Eptifibatide didn't increase the amount of bleedings in patients from the first group. Lethal outcomes in hospital period of observation were observed with statistically relevance more often in patients from the second group with inadequate criteria of reperfusion after PCI. After 12 months of observation NYHA Class III heart failure was observed more often with statistical relevance in patients from the second group with inadequate criteria of reperfusion after PCI.
