Abstract:

Efficacy of educational program for patients with replaced heart valves basing on the principle of continuity at hospital and outpatient stages of disease management was analyzed. 122 patients with replaced heart valves were included in the study. 72 patients undergoing educational program formed the main group, 50 patients that had not participated in the educational program formed the control group. It was estimated that knowledge level was 2.3 times higher in educated patients compared with non-educated patients. Formation of steady motivation contributes to preservation of knowledge level in 6 months after completion of educational program.
