The article presents the direct result of the surgery to eliminate the end colostomy closure. A 44-year-old patient suffered a closed abdominal trauma with a sigmoid colon ruptured in road traffic accident. When providing emergency care, a resection of the damaged part of the colon was performed with the formation of an end colostomy according to the type of Hartmann operation. In December 2016, a reconstructive laparoscopically assisted surgery was performed to close a sigmostoma with an end-to-end anastomosis. A preliminary data analysis showed that performing reconstructive laparoscopic surgery does not adversely affect the results of surgical treatment of patients with end colostomy and provides a reduction in the severity of pain, early rehabilitation and an improvement in the quality of life of patients.
