Purpose. Evaluation of videothoracoscopic operations results for neoplasms of the mediastinum. Materials and methods. For the period from 2006 to 2017, videothoracoscopy was performed in 128 patients with mediastinal tumors (90 patients with anterior mediastinum tumors, 37 with posterior mediastinum tumors, one with anterior and posterior mediastinal tumor). Results. All patients underwent videothoracoscopic interventions. In 116 cases, videothoracoscopy was performed, in 7 — video-assisted intervention, in 5 — single-port intervention. In 103 cases the tumor was completely removed. Intraoperative complications were in 6 patients. In the early postoperative period, 2 patients were able to do this. Patients had no complications. Conclusion. Videothoracoscopic interventions in patients with tumors of the posterior mediastinum are highly effective and safe. The choice of the surgical access should be determined by tumor localization, the size of the neoplasm, its connection to the surrounding structures.
