Abstract:

The aim of the study was to evaluate the results of endoscopic treatment of esophageal strictures after chemical burns in children using methods of dilatation esophagus and laser recanalization. Material and methods. The results of endoscopic treatment of esophageal strictures after chemical burn in 21 children with the use of laser recanalization are presented. A medical laser complex MULTILINE ™ (Belarus), a contact scalpel with a neodymium emitter with a wavelength of 1024 nm and 1340 nm were used. Results. In 2 children with moderate and unbiased strictures, a good effect was obtained, in 7 children it was satisfactory, and, in addition to laser recanalization, a balloon dilatation of the esophagus was also performed. In 10 children, the effect was temporary due to pronounced and extensive strictures; in 4 children, esophagogocoloanastomosis was imposed because of unsuccessful therapy. Conclusion. Laser recanalization and balloon dilatation of the esophagus can be effective in the treatment of short post-burn strictures of the esophagus.
