Literature data on the issue of complications of anti-reflux surgery are presented. To evaluate causes of intra- and postoperative complications, surgical results of 626 patients with hiatal hernia have been analysed. It has been revealed that main failures of laparoscopic and traditional anti-reflux surgery are esophageal and gastric perforation, persistent postoperative dysphagia, gas-bloat syndrome, recurrence of GERD. Analysis of 57 laparoscopic anti-reflux procedures with the help of transilluminating phototensometric tube has been carried out.
