Objective — to assess the benefits of digital technologies in pancreatobiliary imaging. Material and methods. We used the following equipment for transpapillary cholangioscopy after endoscopic retrograde with papillosphincterotomy: SpyScope DS SpyGlass endoscopic visualization system («Boston Scientific», USA), Pentax FCP-9P optical system for cholangioscopy (PENTAX, Japan). Results. The first transpapillary cholangioscopy by using of SpyScope DS SpyGlass system was successfully performed at the Endoscopic Department of the Dzhanelidze St. Petersburg Research Institute for Emergency Care in March 2018. From that point onwards, the authors performed 10 procedures using this visualization system including 4 curative cholangioscopies. Twenty-six procedures of peroral transpapillary cholangioscopy have been performed since 2016 using Pentax FCP-9P optical imaging system. There were 10 curative procedures among them. The main indications for indirect transpapillary peroral cholangioscopy were biliary obstruction and need for visual navigation of the biliary tract for accurate assessment of complications. Conclusion. Indirect peroral transpapillary cholangioscopy with endoscopic and optical imaging systems is currently the most perspective, safe and informative method for endoscopic examination of the pancreatobiliary tract.
