Abstract:

This review addresses current research on the impact of digitalization on the mental health of young people. It was found that digital transformation contributes to a change in cognitive functions, including a deterioration in concentration and the dominance of mosaic thinking. Adverse psycho-emotional effects of excessive consumption of digital content were identified, such as anxiety-depressive states, lack of social skills, dysregulation of circadian rhythms, and the development of addictions. The duality of the effect of digital technologies on the mental state of young people is emphasized: moderate use stimulates development, and excessive use induces psychopathological manifestations.
