Definition and classification of the variability of arterial pressure are presented. The effects of different types of the variability of arterial pressure as an independent risk factor for stroke in arterial hypertension are considered. The author presents the data on the effect of the pharmacological antihypertensive therapy on the variability of arterial pressure.
