Abstract:

OBJECTIVE

To assess motor function recovery in patients with lumbar spine dorsopathy undergoing rehabilitation in Pyatigorsk spa resort.

MATERIAL AND METHODS

A randomized controlled study included 76 patients aged 32 — 65 years with lumbar spine dorsopathy. Patients were randomized into 2 groups by 38 people: control group — standard rehabilitation measures in accordance with clinical guidelines (hydrokineso- and radon therapy, low-frequency electrostatic therapy, psychocorrection); main group — classes on passive suspension system and deep electromagnetic stimulation. Efficiency was monitored using validated scales.

RESULTS

Correction of motor disorders of vertebral-motor segments was 1.2-1.3 times higher with signficaint between-group differences (p <0.05) for half of indicators. This is confirmed by more significant improvement of quality of life (Oswestry scale). In the main group, patients had significant improvement by 3.4 times (p <0.01) that was significant compared to approraptie indicators in the control group (p <0.05).

CONCLUSION

Recovery of spinal motor functions in patients with lumbar spine dorsopathy is significantly (p <0.05) higher after rehabilitation in Pyatigorsk resort compared to standard rehabilitation complex.
