One hundred and twenty patients with chronic nonspecific cervicitis were examined. General magnetic therapy (GMT) was incorporated into the multimodality anti-inflammatory treatment of 60 patients. GMT contributed to a significant reduction in the amount of opportunistic microorganisms in the cervical canal mucus and vaginal contents and had a pronounced positive effect on the clinical picture of the disease and local immunological parameters: there were increases in lysozyme activity and secretory IgA levels and decreases in the content of IL-1, IL-6, and neutrophil myeloperoxidase in the cervical mucus. The findings make it possible to recommend the use of GMT in the multimodality treatment of patients with chronic nonspecific cervicitis.
