The objective of the present communication was to consider the mechanisms of anti-inflammatory action, pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, and most serious adverse effects of modern inhibitors of cyclooygenase-1,2. The potential for the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents for the treatment of inflammatory diseases of the dento-maxillofacial complex is discussed.
