Introduction. According to world statistics, the pathology of ENT organs is one of the most common diseases. Today, minimally invasive functional surgical interventions under constant endoscopic control are widely used in the surgical treatment of ENT diseases. The restoration of natural ventilation and drainage pathways occurs with minimal trauma to the mucous membrane and anatomy of the structures of the nose and paranasal sinuses (PNSs) during such interventions. The work purpose is generalization of modern literature data about studying of PNSs endoscopic surgery using a navigation system to identify the effectiveness of their combined use. Material and methods. To carry out an examination of the technology «PNSs endoscopic surgery using a navigation system», publications were searched in the databases PubMed, CRD, Cochrane, etc. for the period 2000—2017 by keywords: «Endoscopic surgery», «navigation system», «synonasal pathology», «cost-benefit analysis»; «Endoscopic sinussurgery», «navigationsystem», «sinonasalpathology», «cost-benefitanalysis». The review included the results of retrospective studies. The article analyzes the available methods of PNSs endoscopic surgery, including using navigation, their positive and negative sides are described. Results and conclusion. A review of published data emphasizes the need for functional endoscopic surgery in combination with the navigation system only in patient populations where their use will bring maximum benefit. The use of navigation is not required for any endoscopic intervention. It should not be a routine disease of ENT organs. Nevertheless, a number of advantages the combination of endoscopic surgery with navigation, allow us to recommend this technique for use in the treatment of patients with pathology of ENT organs.
