Objective: to optimize the treatment of polypous rhinosinusitis. Patients and methods. The investigation enrolled 62 patients with recurrent polypous rhinosinutis after endoscopic polysinusotomy. The patients were divided into 2 groups: 1) 30 people who received mometasone furoate 400 µg/day continuously for 2 months; 2) 32 people who had combined corticosteroid (CS) therapy. Results. The magnitude of symptoms considerably significantly increased in both groups 1 month after conservative treatment. Comparison of endoscopic changes established the advantage of combined CS therapy over intranasal CS monotherapy. Conclusion. Combined CS therapy for chronic rhinosinusitis with polyps that are beyond the middle meatus is more effective than intranasal CS monotherapy.
