Abstract:

The article is devoted to the actual problem of accessibility and quality of medical care to the population in Russia during the ongoing COVID-19 epidemic.

PURPOSE OF THE STUDY

To study the opinion of the population on the availability and quality of medical care provided to citizens of the Russian Federation aged 18 years and older in the periods before and during the COVID-19 epidemic.

MATERIAL AND METHODS

In September and October 2021, a mass survey of the population was conducted — personal semi-formalized interviews at the place of residence (apartment survey) according to the developed questionnaire. The sample size was 1.630 people.

RESULTS

The author, based on a study of the opinion of the population during the study conducted in 2021, and a comparison of the data obtained with the results of a similar study in 2020, came to the conclusion that the performance of the Russian healthcare system during the COVID-19 epidemic can be generally considered satisfactory: the majority of participants studies have positively characterized the treatment in all types of medical organizations, and the population’s assessment of the quality of emergency medical care has improved significantly.

CONCLUSION

Thus, the Russian healthcare system in the context of a pandemic continues to demonstrate sustainability, the ability to provide the population with timely and high-quality medical care.
