The severity of the problem of adherence to treatment of patients with BSC is due to the dominance of this indicator in the mortality structure of the population, in the Russian Federation and in Kuzbass as well. The starting point of the study was the question of finding additional resources of medical organizations in increasing adherence to treatment after coronary events, in particular myocardial infarction (MI).
OBJECTIVE
To analyze the role of the immediate social environment for the formation of adherence to the treatment of patients with a diagnosis of MI.
MATERIAL AND METHODS
Data base of research — Kuzbass Regional Clinical Cardiology Dispensary named after academician L.S. Barbarash, the unit of the observation is patients of the Cardiology outpatient clinic, who are at the stage of outpatient rehabilitation after MI, who attend the School of Patients with MI, the study included 39 people: 20 women and 19 men. The average age of men is 60±10.8 years, of women is 62.7±7.1. Methods — theoretical analysis and sociological survey.
RESULTS
A significant part of the respondents (67% from total number) confirmed that relatives, friends provide regular assistance in the areas of drug therapy, physical rehabilitation, nutrition and psychological adaptation. The study demonstrated that 61.7% of patients’ relatives have enough information about their health status and the characteristics of the disease. This fact largely explains that only 23% of respondents would like their relatives to take part in the Patient School.
CONCLUSION
The resource for attracting relatives to the activities of the Patient School is 30-40% from the total number of patient-listeners. This result confirmed the generally recognized limits of the influence of socio-economic factors on public health (30%). The study demonstrated the influence and willingness of relatives to participate in the rehabilitation process of patients with BSC, which means that medical organizations need to strengthen their work in this area.
