Abstract:

Objective — to determine the role of polymorphic variants 936 C>T and -634 G>C gene of vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A) in the etiology of missed miscarriage. Material and methods. We analyzed DNA samples from women and embryos/fetuses in 116 cases of missed miscarriage between 8 and 11.5 weeks of gestation and 116 cases of physiological pregnancy of 5—12 weeks. The distribution of frequencies of alleles and genotypes of polymorphic variants 936 C>T and -634 G>C gene of vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A) was analyzed with help of allele-specific polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in «real time». Results. The connection of allele 936Т with the risk of missed miscarriage was revealed. Conclusion. It is assumed that the presence of allele in mother and the fetus is the most unfavorable factor.
