Objective. To study the characteristics of pain syndrome and the women’s psycho-emotional status, to assess the main categories of life quality in women with painful and painless forms of externak genital endometriosos (EGE). Material and methods. The study included 88 women of reproductive age, with laparoscopically and morphologically verified diagnosis of external genital endometriosis in stages II-IV, according to the r-AFS classification. The surveys of pain syndrome, psycho-emotional status and quality of life were conducted using different methods: the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS), the Beck Depression Scale, the Spielberger-Khanin anxiety scale, the "State of health, Activity, and Mood" (SAM) questionnaire, and the SF-36 questionnaire. Results. Complaints of pain of different character, localization and intensity, were presented by 78.4% (n=69; I group) of women (p<0.001). 21.6% (n=19; II group) of women had no pain syndrome. Comparative analysis revealed that women with the painful form of EGE noted significant changes in work sphere and in the environment - a reduction of social activity, deterioration of family relationships and self-perception (p<0.001); a statistically significant decrease in well-being (p<0.005), activity (p<0.05), and mood (p<0.05); statistically significant lower scores in most scales of the SF-36 questionnaire (p<0.001), which indicates a lower level of quality of life, as well as high levels of a depressive-anxiety states, compared to women with EGE who do not experience pain. Conclusions. Chronic pain in patients with external genital endometriosis causes severe psychological changes, depression, anxiety, a significant reduction of quality of life, as well as of general health, activity and mood.
