Objective. To evaluate the results of vitrification and slow freezing for the cryopreservation of human embryos (6—8 blastomers and blastocysts stage) in terms of post-thawing viability and clinical outcomes. Material and methods. We retrospectively analyzed the clinical date of 815 cryo-cycles, 670 of them (82.2%) with slow freezing and 145 (17,8%) with vitrification. We divided the patients into groups by age: ≤35, 36—39 and ≥40 years. Results. The cancel rate because of  embryo total death after thawing in slow freezing group was 11.7%, in vitrification group — 3.4%. Post-thawing viability of embryos in different stages (6—8 blastomers and blastocysts) after vitrification was 97.7% and after slow freezing — 88.6%. Clinical outcomes in patients younger than 35 years after vitrification was 43.9% ( ET of bastomers staged embryos) and 46.9% (blastocysts ET) and after slow freezing — 30.3 and 27.8% respectively. Conclusion. The use of vitrification showed significant better post-thawing morphology, higher viability ad implantation rate compared with slow freezing. The advantage was more evident in patients under 35 years.
