Beauty and external attractiveness are important factors for psycho-emotional attitude and personal positioning in any socio-cultural and ethnic environment. At the same time, the eyes represent a key factor of facial attractiveness, and all people strive to preserve own eye from signs of aging. Eyelid and periorbital reconstructive and plastic surgeries are unique and complex due to various possible deformations and necessary work with thin structures of accessory apparatus of the eye, surrounding tissues and neurovascular structures affecting vision and appearance. Therefore, knowledge of anatomical features of the upper eyelids among representatives of Asian peoples is necessary for plastic surgeons, ophthalmologists and dermatologists. At the same time, there are only few Russian-language reports devoted to age-related changes of the upper eyelids in Asian patients. The purpose was to analyze the literature data on anatomical features and age-related changes of the upper eyelids among representatives of Asian peoples (Mongoloid race).
