Abstract:

Prostate biopsy is a basic diagnostic method for prostate cancer, which permits timely initiation of adequate treatment. The paper gives the results of investigations of different prostate biopsy techniques presently used in suspected cancer. The up-to-date biopsy procedures allow more accurate prediction of the location and extent of tumor changes and the grade of malignancy, which may be used to plan optimal treatment policy.
