The study presents the investigation of face and neck aging signs according to the Merz Aesthetics Scale in 551 women aged 25-75 years. Significant differences between the groups of those who initially applied for cosmetic help and who used methods of cosmetic correction were revealed (p<0.05). The results allowed identifying the four stages of chronoaging with the calculation of the total aging index, which includes 10 main static wrinkles and folds. Clinical examples have demonstrated long-term results of rejuvenation using apparatus ultrasound SMAS lifting, incobotulinum toxin A and fillers.
OBJECTIVE
To develop a classification of chronoaging of the face and neck based on the study of involution skin changes in women with the calculation of the total aging index (TAI).
MATERIAL AND METHODS
From 2015 to 2020, 551 women of tired and deformational morpho-types aged 25-75 years were observed: the 1st group — 302 patients who regularly received anti-aging injection and hardware therapy for more than 5 years (botulinum therapy, fillers, SMAS lifting, etc.); the 2nd group — 249 patients who first consulted a cosmetologist. The depth of wrinkles and folds, morphotype, anthropometric data were recorded in the developed table “Age characteristics of aging of the face and neck”.
RESULTS
The age-related difference in the total aging index on the Merz Aesthetics Scale and the stages in the appearance of aesthetic markers of chronoaging of the face and neck in women aged 25-75 were established. Statistically significant differences are shown (for 10–15 years in groups after 40 years) in the severity of 10 main static wrinkles and folds in women of the 1st and 2nd groups (9.4±0.67 and 14.6±0.75, respectively; p=0.000401). Statistical analysis of TAI in the age groups 25-39, 40-49 years, 50-64 years old, and over 65 years old showed a statistically significant intergroup difference (p<0.0001). It made possible to identify four stages of chrono-aging of the face and neck: I — initial (TAI up to 12 points), II — moderate (TAI is 12-16 points), III — progressive (TAI is 17-21 points), and IV — pronounced (TAI is 22-40 points).
