The study of anatomical and topographic features of the soft tissues of the facial region is especially relevant due to the development of new technologies in maxillofacial and plastic surgery and cosmetology, as well as the increase in the number of interventions carried out in the facial area, including minimally invasive ones. An understanding of the volumetric anatomy, architectonics and biomechanical properties of the soft tissues of the face, as well as the entire spectrum of their changes due to age, is necessary for the selection of optimal and personalized methods for the treatment of various pathologies, reconstructive operations and manipulations to achieve the effect of facial rejuvenation.
The aim of the study is to study the anatomical and topographic features of facial fat packs and their role in correcting the manifestations of facial aging.
More than 100 sources of modern scientific literature have been studied. The search was carried out on PubMed and Google Scholar databases over the past 10 years. The search was reproduced by keywords.
Based on the analysis of scientific literature data, the review summarizes information reflecting the modern understanding of the so-called volumetric (layered) anatomy and topographic features of the superficial and deep fat packages of the face by the authors in the light of the use of these data in conducting trivial and developing new surgical interventions and minimally invasive anti-aging procedures.
A detailed and comprehensive knowledge of the volumetric anatomy of the layers and the exact topographic and anatomical location of the superficial and deep fat packages help to understand the peculiarities of the manifestation of age-related changes in the skin of the face and is important for safe and effective surgical, reconstructive and cosmetic interventions in the facial area.
