Atypical forms of dermatoses often result certain diagnostic difficulties followed by delayed administration of adequate therapy, onset of clinical remission or recovery. Lichen planus is distinguished by various forms and clinical manifestations and often takes place under the guise of other dermatoses. Case report of atypical form of lichen planus in a 12-year-old adolescent is presented. Widespread cutaneous process was characterized by atypical localization of rashes and prolonged course. Blood and urine tests were normal. Ophthalmologist and pediatrician found no disorders. In-hospital complex medication including quinoline drugs, prednisone, detoxification therapy, antihistamines, topical drugs (for example, topical steroids) and physiotherapy was effective to achieve positive result and reduce skin inflammation. The child was referred to a day hospital with incomplete clinical remission. Lichen planus is quite rare in pediatric practice. This clinical case is obviously interesting for physicians and demonstrates rare manifestations of this dermatosis. Moreover, it is emphasized that timely diagnosis and adequate therapy expedite regression of rash with favorable clinical effect.
