Clinical presentation and course of melanoma are highly variable. Among others, skin melanoma can present with spontaneous regression. The incidence of partial regression in patients with melanoma is 10 to 35% regardless of Breslow’s tumor thickness, but this symptom often remains undetected by pathologists. Prognostic significance of regression is still controversial, but most researchers believe that regression is an unfavorable sign. The article describes the clinical case of melanoma regression and literature review on this issue.
