Abstract:

The paper describes the key features of epidemiology, immunology, and modern course of molluscum contagiosum. We report a comparative analysis of the efficacy and safety of existing treatments for this disease in different age periods. The authors concluded that 5% potassium hydroxide solution (Molutrex) is effective and well-tolerated, when used in the treatment of molluscum contagiosum in children, including patients with atopic dermatitis.
