Various forms of lupus erythematosus can be observed in elderly patients. In 3—18% of cases, onset of the disease occurs in persons over 50 years. Photosensitivity and rash at the malar areas are less pronounced in elderly patients. Differential diagnosis is of high importance. Integument forms of lupus erythematosus should be differentiated from refractory solar erythema, rosacea, Senear-Usher syndrome, Darter’s sign, chondrodermatitis nodularis helicis, nodular syphilide, atrophic lichen planus, various lesions localized on the scalp, and Gammel’s disease. We report the case of disseminated lupus erythematosus in a 74-year-old patient. Clinical diagnosis was confirmed by histological examination and positive results of the test for IgG autoantibodies.
