The advanced forms of acne in females are clinically characterized by closed comedones (microcysts), inflammatory papules, pustules, and nodules located mainly on the chin, perioral area, and neck. They are accompanied by severe psychological and emotional maladjustment and occur in two subtypes: persistent acne (permanent long-term juvenile acne) and late acne itself, which first appeared in adults. The treatment of acne includes various methods of topical (in the case of mild disease) therapy and in combination with systemic medications (in the case of moderate and severe forms of acne) targeted at the main elements of pathogenesis. The comprehensive individually feasible range of traditional techniques in combination with advanced phototherapy techniques and cosmetic care is the most appropriate in the treatment of late acne in females, providing rapid clinical effect, stable clinical remission, and significant improvement of the quality of life of patients.
