Abstract:

In was analyzed the results of diagnostics and surgical treatment of 24 patients with pheochromocytoma. All examined patients had elevated catecholamine levels and their metabolites in urine. Selective -adrenoceptor antagonist doxazosin was used in preoperative period in 17 patients for achievement of hypotensive effect. Good results were achieved in 83.3% of cases after surgery. Frequency of postoperative complications was 16.7%, mortality - 4.2%. Duration of hospital stay was 9.3±1.6 days in case of laparoscopic approach, 11.2±1.4 days - in case of minilaparotomy, 18.5±2.9 days - in case of thoracophrenolumbotomy. Miniinvasive access and technologies were preferred when formations size was smaller than 7 cm. The authors consider that thoracolumbar access is optimal for the removal of a massive tumor. It was shown that laparoscopic technologies and miniinvasive accesses improve immediate treatment results and reduce duration of hospital-stay 2 times.
