Abstract:

It was analyzed the hospital and long-term results of repeated coronary bypass operation in 48 patients. The structure of perioperative complications (compared with a group of primary coronary artery bypass surgery), primary patency of various coronary conduits were studied. Also it was determined the probable causes of conduits' failure, technical details of reoperations were described. The reoperation frequency was 1.1% of all coronary bypass operations. There were no fatalities. Survival through 8 years after repeated open myocardial revascularization was 46.7%. Comparison of the results of primary and repeat operations revealed no statistically significant differences in the incidence of perioperative complications, and the qualitative differences between the structures of the complications were due to the fact of re-intervention.
