Abstract:

Levels of C-reactive protein, interleukin-6, tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), sICAM, sVCAM and fibrinogen were studied in various forms of coronary heart disease (CHD). 303 patients aged 32-95 years were investigated. All patients were divided into 3 groups: 38 patients with acute coronary syndrome entered the 1 group, 103 patients with chronic CHD formed the 2 group, 162 patients without CHD represented the 3 (control) group. Statistically significant increase of all markers in patients with CHD was revealed in comparison with the control group. It is estimated that C-reactive protein and TNF-α have independent prognostic value in analysis of unfavorable outcomes and complications in the group with chronic CHD.
