Abstract:

116 patients (62 women, 54 men, age 31-84 years, mean age 62.8±2.6 years) with sick sinus syndrome (n=66) and II-III degree atrioventricular (AV) block (n=56) after implantation of double-chamber cardiac pacemaker (CP) were included in randomized crossover study aimed to compare results of two methods of ventricular stimulus minimization: traditional (long AV-interval of CP, 250 mc) and new (activation of minimization of right ventricular cardiac stimulation). Applied algorithms of minimization were divided into two types of functioning: optimization of AV-interval and reversible automatic switching of regimen. It is shown that application of such minimization algorithms compared with long AV-interval provides significant decrease of ventricular stimuli, load of paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia and subjective improvement of life quality.
