The expression “Publish or perish” was voiced by Robert Merton more than half a century ago. This statement is quite popular in English-language scientific societies despite the sarcastic attitude to its essence among foreign and national scientists. Meanwhile, dissemination of knowledge, obtaining the latest information and interdisciplinary interaction in modern scientific world (including medical science) occur precisely by publishing scientific results in various journals. In addition, the author can gain recognition (or fail!) in a particular field of knowledge only through public presentation of own scientific data. Editions of various scientific journals annually receive over 3 million of manuscripts and half of them are not accepted for publication for various reasons. Moreover, interesting study with new promising results is often looked like scattered phrases and unfounded conclusions in the eyes of colleagues reading the article. This is due to the errors made by the authors in preparing the manuscript for publication. These errors are caused not only by small experience. More common reasons are nonobservance of the elementary principles of design, incorrect or unclear justification of the purpose of the study and analysis of scientific results, and, unfortunately, familiar attitude to presentation of material. Another essential aspect for a manuscript is reviewing or rather its subjective or unprofessional nature. This review is devoted to recommendations on preparing manuscripts for submission to scientific journal. Described statements will facilitate early consideration of the manuscript, increase the chances of receiving positive feedback and shorten time of appearance of a printed version of the article.
