Abstract:

This work is based on the results of examination and treatment of 475 patients with acute thrombosis of the femoral vein. It presents analysis of data obtained in groups of patients with deep vein thrombosis, localization of the proximal part of the thrombus in superficial femoral and common femoral veins, and saphenofemoral thrombosis. Immediate and late results of surgical operations on the femoral vein are discussed. The study has demonstrated efficiency and reliability of direct intervention for the prevention of thromboembolismof pulmonary arteria.
