Abstract:

This article was designed to be published to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Research Center of Balneology and Rehabilitation in Sochi. It discusses the topical issues concerning the history and development of resort business at the Black Sea coast of the Caucasus. The names of all directors of the Center are listed with special reference to the evaluation of their contribution to the activities of the institution, organization of the spa and health resort-based treatment and scientific research, training of medical personnel, etc. We present the key facts and dates of numerous reorganizations of the Center and characteristics of the most important scientific achievements gained by the leading research workers of the institution.
