OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY

To study the frequency of formation and the nature of intrauterine synechiae after myomectomy of submucous nodes (type 0-2).

MATERIAL AND METHODS

An analysis was carried out of 80 patients of reproductive age (18—45 years old) who underwent surgical treatment for uterine fibroids with opening of the uterine cavity (group 1 — 40 observations) and without opening of the uterine cavity (group 2 — 40 observations). 26 patients of both groups who did not realize their reproductive function after the surgical treatment underwent a comprehensive examination and treatment (ultrasound of an expert class and office hysteroscopy with the elimination of intrauterine synechiae). The intrauterine synechia were evaluated according to the classification of the American Fertility Society.

RESULTS

In group 1 patients (myomectomy with opening of the uterine cavity), intrauterine synechiae were found in 56.3%, which is two times more often than in group 2 (myomectomy without opening of the uterine cavity) — 30%. In addition, in group 1, other diseases of the endometrium and cervical canal (polyps) were more often detected.

CONCLUSION

It is advisable to include office diagnostic and therapeutic hysteroscopy in the rehabilitation program for patients after myomectomy of submucous nodes (especially with presented reproductive problems), concerning the high frequency of intrauterine synechia formation, and supplement the treatment with a set of anti-adhesion measures.
