The article describes a rare case of concomitant bilateral aplasia of maxillary sinuses and uncinate processes. A 12-year old patient has been found to have recesses in the middle nasal meatuses, which correspond to the projection of the maxillary sinuses (nasomaxillary cavities); the frontal and basilar sinuses had, on the contrary, high pneumatization. The author considers this case to demonstrate the extreme variant of the anatomy of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses. It is shown that there is a need for nasal endoscopic examination and minimum-step computed tomography that can construct volumetric images to make a diagnosis in patients with rhinologic diseases.
