The paper presents data on the spread of smoking among the inhabitants of the Kyrgyz Republic in terms of ethnic features. The association of this risk factor with gender, age, education level, and marital status, as well as with psychosocial risk factors was investigated. The patients' readiness to quit smoking and the frequency of its preventive counseling were studied in the primary healthcare sector of Kyrgyzstan.
