We studied 44 tissue samples of prostate cancer from men aged 61-86 years. Heterogeneity of apoptosis protein p53, bcl-2, bax and CD95 expression in different stages of cancer and a tendency to modify expression depending on the severity of dysplastic process was revealed. The results showed a high production of the apoptosis inhibitor bcl-2, intense expression of p53, decreased bax and CD95 expression in patients with prostate cancer. The positive correlation between intensity of p53 expression and degree of tumor malignancy was revealed.
