OBJECTIVE

To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of hybrid breast augmentation technique.

MATERIAL AND METHODS

Twelve patients with breast hypotrophy who underwent primary augmentation mammoplasty combined with autologous fat transplantation between November 2021 and October 2023 were included in the study. Mean age of patients was 33.7±5.7 (range 23-41) years. Hybrid breast augmentation method modified by the authors was used for composite breast augmentation.

RESULTS

There were no postoperative complications, and adverse events occurred in 8.3% of patients (oil cysts 3-5 mm without necessary treatment). Intermammary distance decreased from 6.00 [4.00; 6.00] cm to 2.50 [2.00; 3.00] cm (p<0.001). High satisfaction with aesthetic results was achieved in all patients. Scores of four modules of the BREAST-Q questionnaire in 6 months after surgery were as follows: psychosocial well-being was 80.0; sexual well-being was 73.0; satisfaction with breasts was 82.5; physical well-being was 16.5. Mean surgery time was 1 hour and 35 minutes.

CONCLUSION

The proposed method of hybrid breast augmentation is an effective and safe surgical technique saving a larger volume of graft, reducing donor site damage, shortening surgery timer and rehabilitation period.
