Abstract:

The paper describes a clinical case of an initially unresectable locally advanced gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST). A 60-year-old woman was admitted to the clinic for an unverified abdominal tumor up to 25 cm in size. The results of her examination could diagnose GIST. About 20% tumor regression was achieved within neoadjuvant therapy, which allowed further radical combined surgery to be performed. The patient is currently receiving targeted adjuvant therapy. Control examination has revealed no signs of disease progression.
