A case of basal cell skin cancer in a girl aged 15 years is described. The presumptive trigger factor was an acute viral disease — measles infection. The beginning in childhood, the lack of subjective sensations and the relatively favorable course of the superficial form of basal cell carcinoma led to the fact that none of the consulting specialists, despite the growth of education over 12 years and resistance to the therapy, did not suspect cancer pathology. At the time of diagnosis, the tumor reached a size of 4×4.5 cm. A brief review of the literature on the issues of epidemiology, etiology, pathogenesis, clinical forms, diagnosis, and modern methods of treatment of the described pathology is presented. In Russia, as in the whole world, according to statistics, there is an increase in the incidence of non-melanoma skin tumors, in the structure of which the main share is basal cell cancer. In pediatric practice, basal cell carcinoma is much less common, which determines the undoubted interest of this case for dermatovenerologists, pediatricians, therapists and surgeons.
