Lichen planus (LP) is a chronic inflammatory dermatological disease characterized by a variety of clinical forms. LP may be localized both on smooth skin and on the mucous membranes of the mouth and genitals. In recent years, there has been an increase in the incidence of lichen planus with localization on the genitals, causing significant suffering to patients and significantly worsening the quality of life. In men, genital LP often presents in a classic form in the form of pink, shiny, flat papules on the glans penis and coronary sulcus. In women, the disease often presents with erosive and ulcerative lesions and often leads to scarring and a violation of sexual life. Treatment of LP is a difficult task. Topical corticosteroids remain first-line drugs for the treatment of this disease, however, with genital localization of LP, combination therapy with antibiotics and antimycotics, as well as agents that promote the healing of erosive and ulcerative elements and restore the skin’s barrier properties, are often required. Topical four-component drug, which includes mometasone, econazole, gentamicin and dexpanthenol fits the task and makes it possible to provide the therapeutic effects of topical corticosteroid, antibiotic, antimycotics, as well as stimulate the healing of erosion and restore the lost barrier function.
