Relevance. Breach of the skin barrier function is one of the leading pathogenetic mechanisms of atopic dermatitis, which justifies the need for continuous application of basic therapy. Objective. To study the efficacy of treatment of patients with atopic dermatitis using TOPICREM BP balm for external use in combined therapy. Material and methods. The study involved 118 patients with the acute stage of atopic dermatitis of mild to moderate severity. All patients received combined therapy according to the standards for this pathology and basic therapy with TOPICREM BP balm once a day during 4 months. Results and conclusions. Comprehensive treatment, including administration of TOPICREM BP balm in patients with atopic dermatitis is a highly effective method, as evidenced by the reduction of the SCORAD and BRS indices by 75 and 85%, respectively. Recovery of the skin barrier function, including reduction of transepidermal water loss by 38% and a 30% increase in hydration were observed.
