The annual incidence of vulvovaginal candidiasis is annually increasing both in Russia and worldwide. The widespread use of antibiotics, cytostatics, glucocorticoids, organ transplantation, and other medical procedures frequently create conditions for a higher incidence of mycoses. Microbiological assays, such as cultural tests and microscopy of vaginal smears, along with the clinical signs of vaginal candidiasis play a leading role in its diagnosis.
