Results of the studies of different skin sensitivity in the patients presenting with keloid and hypertrophic scars are reported. Symmetric unaffected skin areas were used as controls. It is shown that 97% of the examined patients underwent sharp enhancement of deep skin-layer sensitivity coupled to the reduced sensitivity of other types. This characteristic can be regarded as a new clue for differential diagnostics of keloid cicatrization.
