Abstract:

Minimally invasive approaches in abdominal aortic surgery have various advantages. Small incisions reduce the risk of bleeding, infection and scars. Lower tissue damage shortens postoperative recovery and reduces pain symptoms. As a result, shorter hospital-stay reduces medical costs. Ultimately, these techniques reduce stress on cardiovascular and respiratory systems, especially in patients with comorbidities. We analyzed minimally invasive approaches in abdominal aortic surgery (endovascular, laparoscopic, robotic and mini-laparotomy), and provides a comparative table of results.
