Abstract:

Aortic root repair is always associated with the risk of complications, especially in advanced age patients. We report aortic valve replacement and aortic root repair in an 80-year-old patient with narrow aortic annulus and calcified aortic root. Severe calcification of the aortic wall was intraoperatively revealed. The patient underwent aortic valve replacement with Braile Biomedica №21 bioprosthesis and aortic root repair according to Manouguian-Seybold-Epting method with a xenopericardial patch. Satisfactory aortic valve function was confirmed in postoperative period. The patient was discharged after 10 days. Further accumulation of experience in reconstructive operations on the aortic root in advanced age patients with narrow aortic annulus is required. This is the first such case in our clinic.
