Abstract:

It is presented clinical case of superior vena cava syndrome in the patient on hemodialysis. Woman 55 years old underwent angioplasty and stenting of superior vena cava. Stenting was preferred due to chronic occlusion of superior vena cava and high rigidity of surrounding masses. Stenting effect appeared immediately: dyspnoea disappeared, reduced superficial veins on the chest and the anterior abdominal wall. In addition, possible surgical methods for superior vena cava syndrome correction in patients requiring renal replacement therapy are considered.
